Our Trainers

Head Coach: Shelley Jones


Shelley is currently a personal trainer who works with the Manchester Fire Department. She grew up in Coventry where she did track in high school, as well as a competitive gymnast, cheerleader, and dancer. Shelley competed in multiple national and world championships around the country. In 2011 Shelley and her team took first in the World and then 3rd in 2012. After 2012 she switched roles and became director of the Dance program and brought her teams to the World Championship twice. Over this past year, she has found her new passion in Crossfit and was immediately hooked on the community and competitive aspect. She currently teaches multiple Crossfit, Kids, Teens and Level 1 classes.

Jake Holland

Jake is a recent Xavier High School graduate and plans to continue his education as a nursing major at the University of Connecticut. Growing up in Hebron, Jake has always had a passion for athletics. As a kid, he was a football player and competitive wrestler. He continued his wrestling career through high school and won many titles. As his high school athletic career came to a close, he stumbled upon CrossFit and hasn’t looked back. He fell in love with the competitive atmosphere and sense of community at CCF. Jake’s ambitious attitude keeps him interested in always learning new ways to help others in their fitness journey.


Mike Velasquez

Mike is currently a second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at the University of Connecticut. He started CrossFit in 2012 and immediately fell in love with the variety of disciplines it combined together. As a firm believer in lifelong learning, he is continuously looking for ways to improve as both an athlete and a coach and is currently studying to take his CF-L3 examination.

Sam Gallmeyer

Sam is currently a senior at the University of Connecticut studying economics. He grew up playing baseball and basketball, as well as golf throughout high school. He started CrossFit in high school after his parents and sister became members at CCF.  Since Sam started college, he has been an active member of the CCF community.  Now a trainer, he enjoys watching people grow and improve, both physically and mentally.

Pat Stone 


Pat is a full-time middle school health and physical education teacher. He recently graduated from Central Connecticut State University with his Master’s Degree in Education Leadership. Pat has participated in athletics all his life, excelling at Track and Cross Country. Prior to being introduced to CrossFit he trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and competed in a variety of competitions around New England. Pat’s knowledge of fitness, functional movement, instructional experience, and passion for CrossFit make him an outstanding coach at CCF.
